Welcome to the WE WHO MARCH Blog!
This is a place to showcase the work of experienced photographers who capture engaging moments at a political demonstration. I will begin with photos from the Women's March of January 21, 2017, and then expand as we attend more marches.
Each week, I will post one (or more) photos. If you took a photo at a demonstration and would like it to be considered, please send me 1) the photo (or 3-4 so I can choose one), 2) name of the demonstration and city, 3) your name as it should appear, and 4) a comment. Please size the photo at 1100 pixels on the longest side.
Send to Ellen Feldman at [email protected], subject: WWM Blog. Thanks!
Rita Rosen Poley attended the Women's March of January 21, 2017, in Philadelphia, PA.
I am pleased to include her photo and comment in the first posting of the WE WHO MARCH blog.
"The 360 degree presence of purposeful solidarity and joy overwhelmed me.
Wherever I pointed my camera I captured an eloquent story. This moment of
quiet reflection conveys the deeper meaning of the March and our coming together."

And I, Ellen, chose this photo because it conveys so much: the woman's concerned look,
pussy hat, and black mittens; the multitudes behind her; the reminder that women will raise
our voices against those who would silence us; and then the sign reminding us of this
moment when we are finally, increasingly speaking out against perpetrators of sexual harassment--
and we know who is the elephant in the room.
